Because we actually got a fair amount of rain this year (for Southern California, that is), I found myself checking the online weather forecasts more than usual. I was never able to decide how the numbers on a given day translated in a meaningful way for me, however. What exactly does a 40% chance of rain mean? And how does it differ from a 50% prediction in terms of the only thing I care about: Do I bring an umbrella – or not?
Enter Umbrella Today! My kind of site!
All you have to do is enter your location…
and get your answer to the only question that matters: “Do I need an umbrella?”
No umbrella for me today. How about you?
That’s fantastic! Thanks for sharing. And, nope, shouldn’t need an umbrella either [smile].
Of course, I’ve never paid much attention to the forecast. I prefer to look out my window and make a guess. I’ve been wrong before, but with no less accuracy than the weather stations. Hmm… reminds me of a podcast I heard a year ago about the ability of our current weather monitoring system to predict what was coming. …wish I could remember where it was so I could link it to you.
Have a great, non-rainy day!

Oh yeah. Love the weather sites!
It’s pouring today, so I didn’t need the site to tell me, but I asked it anyway, and it confirmed my genius observation that YES, I would need an umbrella today.
